1. How to purchase DMS (BYOL) license on Amazon AWS marketplace.
1. Go to Payment via Paypal page
2. Choose AWS instance type, vCPU, and select license duration (month).
3. Make payment via Paypal.
4. Please follow next steps to request license and activate DSM.


2.1 Find your DSM SystemOut.log (Windows)
1. Connect to your Amazon AWS instance.

Start DSM Server
2. Execute Start DSM Server 3.0.exe icon on your desktop.

View Logs
3. Right-click on DSM tray icon and click on View Logs

Ntas.log
4. If it says "START ALL SERVERS"in A, it means your DSM client is working properly.
5. Press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to copy all text in the SystemOut.log section in B for license issuing.
6. Go to Request License page and fill out the form.
7. Paste copied logs fromSystemOut.log into the License Request section and send.
8. Our agent will get in touch with you within 1 business day and help you to activate DSM.

2.2 Activate your DSM (Windows)
1. We will send you a license zip file after your Request License.
2. When you unzip the license zip file, two files will appear. (licensefile.info, YourEmailAddress.lic)

Apply License
3. Copy and paste these license files into DSM installed folder. (C:/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/resource)

Stop DSM
4. Please stop DSM Server for license activation. Execute 'Stop DSM Server' icon on desktop.

Stop DSM
5. When a stopping splash window appears, it means your DSM Server stopped properly.

Start DSM Server
6. Execute Start DSM Server 3.0.exe icon on your desktop.

Check License
7. Check INFORMATION License file name on your Ntas.log section in View Log.

2.3 Disable Firewall (Windows)
In order to use DSM on AWS properly, please follow Windows Firewall disabling procedure.

Disable all ports

Disable Firewall
1. Click on 'Windows' icon on your desktop.

Disable Firewall
2. Click on 'Control Panel'.

Disable Firewall
3. Click on 'System and Security'.

Disable Firewall
4. Click on 'Windows Firewall'.

Disable Firewall
5. Click on 'Turn Windows Firewall on or off'.

Disable Firewall
6. Click on 'Turn off Windows Firewall' in Private network settings and Public network settings.

Disable Firewall
7. If it looks like this screenshot, it means the firewall has been disabled properly.

In case of using specific ports.
When you are using specific ports, you should make sure that 8080, 1223, 3389, 1222 TCP protocol ports are opened in Inbound.
You should also open all all protocol ports in Outbound.

Disable Firewall
1. Click on 'Advanced settings' in Windows Firewall.

Disable Firewall
2. Click on 'Inbound Rules' to add inbound port.
3. Click on 'Outbound Rules' to add outbound port.

3.1 Find your DSM SystemOut.log (Linux)
1. Connect to your Amazon AWS instance.

Start DSM Server
2. Execute DSM.
$sudo sh /usr/local/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/bin/startserver.sh

Check DSM status
3. Check DSM is working correctly.
$sudo tail /usr/local/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/logs/CurrenDate.ntas.log
If it says "START ALL SERVERS", it means your DSM client is working properly.

Ntas System Out Log
4. Execute $cat /usr/local/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/logs/CurrentDate.ntas.system.out.log
Copy all text in CurrentDate.ntas.system.out.log for license issuing.
5. Go to Request License page and fill out the form.
6. Paste copied text into the License Request section and send.
7. Our agent will get in touch with you within 1 business day and help you to activate DSM.

3.2 Activate your DSM (Linux)
1. We will send you a license zip file after your Request License.
2. When you unzip the license zip file, two files will appear. (licensefile.info, YourEmailAddress.lic)

Apply License
3. Copy and paste these license files into DSM installed folder. (/usr/local/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/resource)

Check DSM status
4. Please restart DSM for license activation.
Execute $sudo sh /usr/local/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/bin/stopserver.sh
Make sure your DSM is shut down properly. (use ps –ef | grep Ntas command)
Execute startserver.sh by Sudo command.

Check License
5. Check your license informaion. Use command below.
$ vi /usr/local/DataSyncManager3.0/ntasserver/logs/CurrenDate.ntas.log

3.3 Disable Firewall (Linux)
In order to use DSM on AWS properly, please follow Linux Firewall disabling procedure.

Disable all ports

Disable Firewall
1. Use the command below to disable the firewall.
$sudo /etc/init.d/iptables stop

In case of using specific ports.
When you are using specific ports, you should make sure that 8080, 1223, 22, 1222 TCP protocol ports are opened in Inbound.
You should also open all protocol ports in Outbound.

1. You can open or close all ports in /etc/sysconfig/iptables
2. Use the command below to add a port to open.
$sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/iptables
